Our Vision

We believe that a well-designed bike can turn your ride into the best part of your day. We want to empower cyclists with beautiful and innovative products that make bike rides smarter, safer and more enjoyable.

Our Story

We designed the Valour as the first step toward fulfilling our vision. We wanted a smarter way to commute through congested cities. Implementing technology on our bikes was our way to make cyclists safer and more efficient in their daily commutes.

When we launched our Kickstarter campaign in 2014 to fund the production of Valour, we were overwhelmed with the positive response to the beautiful design and combination of features that make our bike so unique. Valour became the most-funded premium bike project in the history of crowdfunding, raising over $820K.

In 2016, Vanhawks was acquired by Ontario-based Warren Industries, an established automotive parts manufacturer. The move added stability and significant resources to our manufacturing pipeline, allowing our team to remain independent and focus on what we do best: developing smart products that improve personal transportation.

Our Leadership

We are a highly specialized team. Unlike many other bike manufacturers, our team is made of avid cyclists who are also industrial designers, software developers, and hardware engineers. Vanhawks is where our passions for biking and technology intersect.

The Valour will take them through 15,000 km — from St. John’s on the Atlantic coast, to Inuvik in the Arctic, to Victoria on the Pacific coast. In the span of six months they will traverse coasts, mountains, Arctic tundra — and everything in between — on their Valours.

Our Journey Across Canada

We are proud to be the bike of of choice for a duo of young Canadians who are biking across Canada to celebrate the country’s 150th anniversary.

Together, we know how to develop solutions to the problems that cyclists face everyday — because we face those problems ourselves.
